  • Maintenance every 2 months
  • Coordinated BioSystems Support

  • Full BioSystems Support (plants & fish included)

  • Training + follow-up support

Best balance of reliability and instructional use.

How Living Labs Support Works

Supporting Existing Systems — and Designing New Living Labs

Living Labs supports living learning environments already in schools, regardless of who originally supplied the system. Aquaponics, hydroponics, garden, and greenhouse systems—whether purchased from another vendor, built in-house, or installed years ago—can all be supported under the Living Labs framework.

When Living Labs begins supporting a system, it becomes a Living Lab: a learning environment maintained for reliability, biological health, and instructional readiness. Because existing systems vary in design, age, and condition, the level of support required may differ and is reflected in our pricing ranges.

In addition to supporting existing systems, Living Labs also designs and sells Living Labs systems, either directly or through trusted partners. Systems designed with long-term service and instructional use in mind are typically easier to support and may fall toward the lower end of our pricing ranges.

This approach gives schools flexibility—support what you already have, expand thoughtfully, or invest in new Living Labs built to last—while ensuring every environment is reliable, usable, and ready for learning.

Step 1: Choose a Living Labs Support Tier

Support tiers define how deeply we support each Living Lab.
Tiers are selected per system and focus on system reliability, BioSystems care, and instructional readiness.

  • Tier 1 – Essential Support
Professional oversight for schools that want reliable systems while maintaining primary responsibility for daily instructional readiness.
  • Tier 2 – Core Support (Recommended)
Our most common option. Core Support balances system reliability with instructional usability, ensuring Living Labs are working and ready for learning.
  • Tier 3 – Full Partnership
A comprehensive partnership for schools or districts that rely heavily on Living Labs as part of their instructional model.

Step 2: Build a Support Package

Once a support tier is selected, schools build a Support Package based on the number of Living Labs being supported.

A Support Package includes:

  • The selected Living Labs Support tier
  • One or more Living Labs (aquaponics, hydroponics, gardens, or greenhouses)
  • Ongoing support delivered consistently throughout the year

Support packages can be built for:

  • A single Living Lab
  • Multiple Living Labs at the same school
  • Multiple systems across a district

Step 3: Add Optional Learning Services

Schools may enhance their Support Package with optional add-on services that deepen instructional impact or create special learning experiences.

Optional add-ons include:

  • Co-teaching and classroom support
  • Additional teacher professional learning
  • Custom student learning events
  • System launch or re-launch support

Add-ons are scoped and scheduled separately and are available to schools at any support tier.

Multiple Systems & Discounts

Living Labs is designed to scale efficiently.

Discounts may be available when:

  • Multiple Living Labs are supported at the same school
  • Maintenance visits can be bundled
  • Schools standardize support tiers across systems
  • Strategic or pilot partnerships are established
